Beef and Chorizo Burger, Flavors of Arizona - Chiles and Smoke
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/4 lb chorizo sausage, casing removed
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced roasted green chiles
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomato
- Sliced red onion
- Chipotle mayo 1/2 cup mayo + 1 tbsp chipotle in adobo sauce, blended
- Avocado slices
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine ground beef, chorizo, diced onion, diced roasted green chiles, minced garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper
Mix well
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat
Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill until they are slightly crispy
Assemble your burgers by spreading chipotle mayo on the bottom bun, adding lettuce leaves, a burger patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, and avocado slices
Top with the other half of the bun and serve your Beef and Chorizo Burger with the flavors of Arizona!
